Editorial Guidelines & Ethics

Read NewsSkook's comprehensive editorial guidelines, journalistic ethics, source verification protocols, and impartiality standards.

At NewsSkook, our credibility with our readers is our most valuable asset. Operating under our core mandate, “News at Another Perspective,” we are committed to producing journalism, analysis, and feature reporting that is accurate, fair, independent, and transparent.

Every writer, editor, analyst, and external contributor publishing on NewsSkook—across all active desks from Global News and Tech & Future to Legal & Law and 2026 Wire—is bound by the following editorial standards and ethical guidelines.

1. Accuracy & Primary-Source Attribution#

We prioritize getting the story right over getting it first. Before any dispatch, article, or analysis is approved for publication, our writers and editors must verify claims against authoritative primary sources.

  • On-the-Record Sourcing: Whenever possible, we rely on primary documentation—including federal and state court filings, corporate regulatory disclosures, peer-reviewed research, official government releases, and direct, on-the-record interviews.
  • Clear Attribution: When citing statistics, technical studies, or breaking reports first broken by another news organization, NewsSkook provides clear, direct attribution and links to the original source material.
  • Anonymous Sources: We grant anonymity sparingly and only when a source provides vital public-interest information that cannot be obtained on the record, and where revealing their identity would place their livelihood or safety at risk. Even when a source’s name is withheld from publication, their identity and reliability must be verified by a senior editor.

2. Human Editorial Oversight & Responsible AI Policy#

NewsSkook believes that authentic journalism requires human judgment, ethical reasoning, and subject-matter expertise.

  • Strict Human Review: Every article published on NewsSkook is assigned, reviewed, line-edited, and approved by a human editor before going live.
  • Zero Unsupervised AI Content: We strictly prohibit the publication of unedited, wholesale AI-generated articles or automated scraping. While our staff and contributors may use digital tools for data organization, transcription, grammar checking, or preliminary research, the narrative structure, reporting, legal or technical analysis, and final prose must be authored and verified by a human writer.
  • Originality & Plagiarism: Plagiarism, fabrications, or the unauthorized lifting of another creator’s work are grounds for immediate termination of staff writers or permanent removal of external contributors.

3. Impartiality, Fairness & Right of Reply#

Our readers rely on us to distinguish between objective news reporting and analytical commentary.

  • News vs. Analysis: Straight news reporting on our Global News and 2026 Wire desks is written neutrally to inform readers of verified facts. Analytical essays, op-eds, and industry perspectives published under Insights & Articles or by guest columnists are clearly framed as commentary.
  • Right of Reply: When our reporting includes significant criticism or allegations of wrongdoing against an individual, company, or institution, we make a good-faith effort to contact the subject for comment prior to publication and reflect their response fairly within the story.
  • Legal & Financial Disclaimers: Articles published on our Legal & Law and Business & Real Estate desks are intended strictly for informational and journalistic purposes. They do not constitute formal legal counsel, attorney-client representation, or licensed financial investment advice.

4. Conflicts of Interest#

Our editorial team operates free from improper outside influence. Writers, analysts, and editors must disclose any personal, financial, or professional ties that could compromise—or appear to compromise—their objectivity on a story.

Staff members are barred from writing about companies in which they hold direct equity, organizations where they have a consulting relationship, or parties with whom they have a personal conflict. When a relevant disclosure is necessary for a contributor’s piece, it is stated clearly within the article or author bio.

5. Firewall Between Editorial & Commercial Operations#

NewsSkook is an independent publication of Easy Services Club LLC and sustains its operations through programmatic display advertising (including Google AdSense), direct banner campaigns, and commercial partnerships. We maintain a strict separation between our business revenue and our editorial judgment:

  • Advertising Independence: Advertisers and commercial sponsors never dictate our news coverage, influence our editorial critiques, or receive favorable treatment in our independent reporting.
  • Sponsored & Partner Content Labeling: Paid brand features, sponsored articles, and commercial placements are vetted for factual accuracy and reader relevance, and are prominently labeled as “Sponsored,” “Partner Content,” or “Advertisement” so readers can immediately distinguish commercial content from independent journalism.
  • Outbound Citation Integrity: Editorial links inside independent reporting are earned strictly on journalistic merit and educational value to the reader. Paid promotional links or commercial placements are processed through our advertising desk and adhere to search engine transparency standards (utilizing rel="sponsored" or rel="nofollow" attributes where applicable).

6. External Contributors & Guest Submissions#

We welcome outside perspectives from industry practitioners, attorneys, engineers, and independent writers. However, external contributors are held to the exact same factual, ethical, and originality standards as our in-house staff.

  • Contributors must disclose any commercial affiliation with the products, companies, or legal matters mentioned in their drafts.
  • Our central desk retains full editorial control to edit contributor submissions for clarity, tone, factual accuracy, and headline fairness, and reserves the right to reject any submission that fails to meet our journalistic standards.

7. Accountability, Updates & Corrections#

No newsroom is infallible, but an ethical newsroom owns its mistakes transparently. When a factual error, misquote, or outdated legal status is brought to our attention, our editors investigate promptly and update the record in accordance with our Fact-Checking & Corrections Policy. We do not silently alter substantive facts without appending an editorial note to inform the reader.
