Travis Barker’s “Feeling This” new look has us completely enthralled.
Machine Gun Kelly and Willow Smith’s latest music video for “Emo Girl” features the Blink-182 drummer, who appears to be practically unrecognisable.
The project was released on February 9th, and, let’s be honest, our mouths fell when we first saw Travis in the opening scene. On set, the 46-year-old drummer dressed in grey wig and glasses, as well as sweater vest and turtleneck, to portray the role of a school teacher. Is there anything that stands out as being absent? His tattoos on his face have become iconic.
Travis kicked off the film by inviting a group of schoolchildren to what appears to be a modern museum. His first words to the class were, “All right, kids. Today we’re going on a field trip.” And wow, are we in for a wild trip ahead of us!
As soon as they enter, the class of pupils is exposed to Machine Gun Kelly and Willow’s remarkable talent, as well as their emo makeup and grunge fashion.
Travis rushed to Instagram to commemorate the momentous occasion, posting a clip from the film’s opening sequence. “Who’s up for going on a field trip?” he inquired in his letter.
This new style appears to be a hit with his fans and followers, judging by the amount of positive feedback received in the comment area.
The following comment was made by a user: “Travis the grey wig honestly has a complete vibe.” Added another fan, “I really don’t want to like it, but I’m kind of nearly kind of liking it…”
According to another user, “This looks more cooler than any field trip I recall going on as a kid.”
On February 9, MGK posted a video to his Instagram Story showcasing the new look for his own profile. On Instagram, he shared a photo of him and Travis on a FaceTime session, with Travis dressed in full nerdy garb. “I got my favourite instructor in the emo female video @travisbarker,” he posted on Twitter.
Even if Travis’s bookworm style is a departure from his previous work, his collaboration with Machine Gun Kelly (real name Colson Baker) is nothing out of the norm.
The two tattooed rock stars have been friends for a long time and have not only gone on several double dates with their respective fiancés, Kourtney Kardashian and Megan Fox, but have also collaborated on music projects in the past. Travis is serving as the record’s executive producer on MGK’s upcoming sixth studio album, which is due out later this year.
After convincing Travis to get matching tattoos of the title of the upcoming album, MGK had to break the news to him that the album’s name will be changed from Born with Horns to Mainstream Sellout just a few weeks before.
In his most recent TikTok video, MGK described the moment he informed Travis of the situation. “Okay, we’re buddies no matter what, right?” he said at the outset.
Travis said, “Of course,” confirming his previous statement.
“Remember when, oh, remember when we got the album name…the new album name tattooed on our arms…,” MGK said. “I’m going to change the name of the record.”
The good news is that Travis was certainly not upset, as seen by his burst of laughing! Maybe the tattoo-covering makeup will come in handy outside of the music video for “Emo Girl” as well?
