Writing is not a big task but creative writing is definitely not everyone’s cup of tea.
Creative writing includes writing scripts for plays, daily soaps, movies, songs, fictional content, poetry, speeches, etc.
As a creative writer, you always have to write something that attracts your readers and also makes them crave more about your content which is a very tough job.
Writing something interesting requires a great idea and imagination and a greater execution of such an idea.
The question is what you should do in order to become a great writer? Follow the steps below, to begin with your journey as a creative writer.
Read – Find scripts of movies and plays on the internet or borrow scripts from other students to read. Read as many books and poems as possible. Listen to more and more songs and observe the details, the rhyming, the words, and every bit of it. Reading is the food to your creative mind and hence it is one of the most important parts of the process of becoming a writer.
Write – If you’re in the process of reading, doesn’t mean that you should not write anything. Write something daily, be it a poem or a speech or maybe a short story. Once it becomes your habit, you will feel comfortable writing any form of content on any given topic.
Learn – Enroll for some creative writing course online or a scriptwriting course or a content writing course. This would act as a guide in your journey of becoming a writer. Tips from a professional or a veteran is very important in any kind of profession.
Use literary devices – Literary devices like simile, metaphors, etc., enhance your content and make it more interesting for your readers. But, using literary devices is not an easy task. You need to have in-depth grammatical knowledge of their usage.
Imagine and have a view – Creative writing is a product of your ideas and imagination. You are putting out your perspective by being a writer. When you get a situation or topic to write upon, you need to imagine the whole story relating to that. That’s when you can write something when you yourself have visualized it.
Finding inspiration in other people’s stories and learning from their struggles and how they overcame them is always a good idea. Click here to explore such stories.
Know your audience – If you are writing a book for professionals, you can definitely use a very good level of vocabulary. But, when you are writing something for teenage kids or younger kids, you cannot use similar vocabulary like that for professionals.
