Recipes can be more complicated than they appear at first glance. The number of bananas needed to make a cup of mashed or chopped bananas in a recipe can be a bit of a challenge to figure out at first.

A response is available because I’ve done the legwork for you. About 1 cup can be made from 3 medium-sized peeled bananas with an 8-inch length each, which are peeled and mashed.

To put it another way, 1 cup of mashed bananas requires about 24 inches of peeled bananas. A cup of chopped bananas from 1.5 medium bananas is roughly right for a recipe that asks for them.

Clearly, the number of bananas required will be affected by the size and preparation of the bananas. Read on to learn more.

Measurements of Banana Size

Size 1/2 Cup Mashed Bananas 1/2 Cup Chopped Bananas
Small Bananas (6″) 2 bananas 1 banana
Medium Bananas (8″) 1.5 bananas 3/4 of 1 banana
Large Bananas (9″) 1 1/3 bananas 2/3 of 1 banana

It is assumed that you are using a medium-sized banana, which is around 8 inches (20.32 cm) long. Just be aware that the quantities you prepare will vary slightly depending on whether you use a small, large, or extra-large banana.

Bananas of different sizes:

  • Six inches in diameter (15.24 cm)
  • Inches wide: 9 inches (22.86 cm)
  • 10-inch extra-large size (25.4 cm)

There are a number of ways to measure the mash.

It’s best to use medium-sized bananas for this recipe. These measures are only accurate if you don’t have any pieces in the mashed portion of the banana. Squishing this fruit requires the use of a masher.

  • 12 inches (30.48 cm) is the length of a medium banana, which is equivalent to 118 millilitres (118 ml).
  • Banana puree equals 237 ml, which is equal to 3 medium bananas, or 24 inches (60.96 cm).
  • 355 ml of mashed banana equals 4.6 medium bananas, which is 36.8 inches (93.47 cm) long

Is 2 Bananas the Same Weight as 1 Banana?

236 grammes is the approximate weight of two medium-sized 8-inch (20 cm) bananas. To get an idea of how many grammes are in two bananas, you’ll need to know how big they are. 118 grammes is the approximate weight of an 8-inch banana.

For instance, two 7-inch-long bananas weigh 202 grammes each. Bananas up to 9 inches long (or 136 grammes) in length are the most common size. The weight of two giant bananas is 272 grammes.

A Kilogram of Bananas: How Many?

A kilogramme of bananas contains around 7-9 bananas. Banana and peel are included in this measurement of total weight.

A Quart Holds How Many Bananas?

This recipe makes enough for roughly one cup using around twelve 8-inch bananas mashed up finely. This is due to the fact that one cup of mashed bananas requires three medium-sized 8-inch peeled bananas, and a quart has four cups. A quart of bananas requires roughly 96 peeled inches of fruit.

There are no hard and fast rules when it comes to how many bananas fit in a quart.

How Do You Measure Banana Slices?

Because chopped bananas occupy more space, fewer bananas are required to fill a cup.

  • 1/3 of a cup of water (159 ml) 8 inches (20.32 centimetres) long Equals 1 medium banana
  • Sliced banana equals 1.5 medium bananas, which are around 12 inches (30.48 centimetres) long.
  • 1/3 of a mug (315 ml) 2 medium bananas = 16 inches (40.64 cm) of sliced banana
